Why choose Lake Como? First of all for its location: not only is it extremely convenient to reach it, but you will be in one of the most beautiful places in Italy. In a short time from the lake you can reach cities like Milan and Saint Mortiz. The Como Lake is famous all over the world for it´s great variety, breathtaking nature, huge choice of sports to practice, amazing villages and a multitude of gastronomic varieties. There are many types of water sports you can practice on the Como Lake. Thanks to it´s wind certainty the lake is a popular destination for Windsurfers and in the meantime also for Kitesurfers. Our Windsurf Kitesurf School “XTREMELEMENT” is located in Dervio directly on the lake. The kite gets started directly by the boat in the middle of the lake. That´s why there is no risk to get hurt anyhow on the beach. We drive you then to where there are the best wind conditions and you have enough space. There are two main winds on the Garda Lake. Dervio
Dervio is the first spot you meet coming from Milan and Lecco where you can go out launching from the ground.
The launch area is located upwind of the river and is not particularly spacious. Launching conditions are generally good, although often the wind is pierced right where the wing rises. This creates a non-optimal condition both in exit and in return, where the wing can fall abruptly to the ground due to the presence of several trees with large canopy that are located immediately upwind. Leaving the ground there is no possibility of error for the re-entry, that is, you must return to the river. Downwind in fact there are no places where you can land the wing safely. In Dervio there is also the Xtremelement school. For this reason do not hesitate to contact us if you need more information or if you want to make a lift to avoid having to leave the spot that, especially in summer, is generally overcrowded.
Attention
In the months of June and July are mounted in front of the spot the piers for fishing. In this period it is forbidden to use the Dervio spot for kitesurfing. We recommend to respect this prohibition!

Colico
Colico is one of the most famous kitesurf spots on Lake Como. Suitable for all levels with a wind between 15 and 18 knots.

Colico, pratone area, is an easy spot and allows, if you have problems or wind drops, to return on foot. In case of problems, in fact, you get to Pian di Spagna and from there, with 20 minutes of walking, you can return to the spot. There are several infrastructures such as Bar, Pizzeria, Ice Cream and Surf Shop. Crowded already in the middle seasons, it becomes very crowded in summer. For this reason we recommend to be particularly careful not to leave the bar lying on the lawn to allow an optimal use of the space available for the launch.

Beginner to Expert
Gera Lario
One of the windiest areas of Lake Como thanks to the thermal wind that blows from the south, the Breva.
Gera Lario is the first spot you meet coming from Colico, going up the lake on the Como shore towards Menaggio. In Gera you exit from the meadow downwind of the port. The light poles impose to raise and lower the wing in not optimal conditions from the point of view of safety. For this reason it is a spot recommended mainly to those who have a high level of autonomy and mastery of the wing. The fact that it is not as crowded as Colico in the summer months and the fact that it is at the bottom of the lake limits the time in acuq in case of problems. However, this requires that you start and know how to tack immediately, otherwise you will have to walk back a long way....
Attention

Valma
An incredible spot for kiters who love great morning rides.

Valmadrera, Valma for locals and habitual surfers at dawn. Spot for experts only that allows morning exits of great quality. The exit and the return take place through two concrete stairs, this requires a very good control of the wing, also considering the fact that in the launch area the wind is often gusty. You enter the water as soon as it is light and you have the possibility to see the sunrise from the lake during the session! If this is your first time there, ask the locals for information and pay attention to the plant upwind of the ladder to enter the water. It is recommended, especially when the wind is gusty, to do the first 30 meters in bodydrag to reach the area of constant wind. Upwind is the spot reserved for windsurfers. For the sake of peace and quiet, we avoid going up too far.
